Christmas lights23

“Operation Santa” is a group of concerned citizens in Asquith who want to help families in need of some extra love and support, especially at the Christmas season.

We are starting our twenty-fourth year with our “Operation Santa” program. The community of Asquith and area were generous again last year in their support, both monetary and in donated grocery items. We provided hampers to eleven incredibly grateful family units, and a small gift for 19 very happy children!

We are running the program again this year. We aim to provide groceries and Christmas Meal hampers, as well as small gifts for the children, and for the families. Recipient’s names are very confidential. We protect each person’s dignity. (Our other records are open to the public at any time.)

We are appealing to our entire community to be a part of this. We would thank you for any help that you might be able to give, be it in the form of a food drive for donated grocery items or a cash donation. We do not give cash out to families or individuals, rather all cash donations are used to purchase appropriate hamper items, locally if possible. All requests for hampers must be turned in by Friday, December 15, 2023, so perhaps your organization would like to purchase a gift or a toy for a child as a way of contributing. If so, all gifts must be handed in to the Town Office prior to the Dec. 15th deadline. We welcome any participation you choose. Also, if you can donate any reusable shopping bags to sort groceries into that would be wonderful!

 Thank you for your consideration.
