If you are planning to do a job such as a renovation that will involve a lot of waste and debris having to go to a landfill, you may want to explore contracting with Loraas to bring you a bin that you can fill up and that they will take away for a cost.  Loraas can be reached at (306)242-2300.

You can go to the Sask Waste Reduction Website www.saskwastereduction.ca
to find different businesses that will receive recyclables, oil, shingles, appliances, etc.
One business, BN Metals located at 1920 Quebec Avenue, accepts household appliances free of charge:
fridges, stoves, freezers, dishwashers, washers and dryers, furnaces, hot water heaters, microwaves,
air conditioners and toasters.  The drop off area is open 24/7 and is located in front of the building on the
North side.  BN Metals also takes batteries (automotive and miscellaneous), paper, cardboard, plastic (household), propane tanks, scrap metal and automobiles.

You can take shingles for recycling to All Rock Hauling for a nominal fee of $55 per tonne.  They are located at 140-71st St. West, Saskatoon.  They are open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

These are just two businesses that provide individuals with alternatives to a landfill.  Please explore the website to see other alternatives.
